More and more we are realizing the impact that inflammation has on our bodies. From the aches and pains, to the diseases it has a habit of bringing on, it is always important to make sure you take care of your body and help it to heal. How do you help a body that is inflamed heal from inflammation without taking prescription drugs or even just over the counter Advil and Aleeve on a constant basis? A few years ago, I was in a nasty car accident that left me in constant pain thanks to sever inflammation of my different systems. I could barely walk, move, breathe, or get through a day without popping those lovely pills. That is, until I was doing some research and found many wonderful NATURAL things that wouldn’t hurt my body, but would instead heal it. No wonder my body craves it so much!
Sure, you can definitely cook with cinnamon, but did you know cinnamon is also an incredible anti-inflammatory? There is some research that shows that cinnamon has incredible healing properties not just for any sort of inflammation, but it also helps control blood sugar levels in some diabetics. I generally like to use my cinnamon in a juicing blend of apples, celery, and carrots to make a tasty beverage and leads to a purer form of ingestion of the cinnamon. I’ve noticed it also helps with my migraines a little bit, but then again, it helps blood flow a little easier so maybe that’s why!
It may leave you with some potent breath, but Garlic is another absolutely incredible healing herb that will surprise you with how well it works. Not only is it excellent for bruises, sickness, and tastes great, but it also helps bring down a lot of inflammation in the body. For me, it’s something that when I feel a little sickness coming on, by throat swelling, or a cough coming on, I buy several heads of it, bake it up, and turn it into a beautiful paste that I can put on anything. Now, some people may be brave enough to juice this into their juice blends, but not I. The garlic decreases the inflammation in arteries, and also puts a nice protection layer on them. Nothing like keeping your system oiled and running well like a classic car! Protect your body, and it will serve you a long time.
