What is herbal tea?
Herbal tea is an infusion of herbs and tea leaves or can even be just herbs alone. A lot of the time people believe that herbal tea must be mixed with tea leaves, but that isn’t the case. There are many variations as to what flavors what ailments and what teas you may or may want to use in your infusion. When making herbal tea, depending on what herbs you put in it, it may need to steep longer than plain tea to get all of the benefits from it. Or even all of the flavors from it! Did you know that jasmine tea is not the jasmine plant leaf? Its actually an infusion! When they make the tea leaves they put jasmine flowers with it and once they are infused they take the jasmine flowers out and finish drying the tea leaves. So in essence, the tea leaves absorb the jasmine flavor and smell.
With herbal tea you can even include dried fruit! Like peaches? Try an herbal peach infused tea! My favorite is almond oolong tea, great for summer flavors! Great cool drink for those hot summer days too! This gives you even more of an option when it comes to flavors.
You could replace your coffee with “Herbal coffee”! This can help coffee drinkers limit their intake of so much caffeine throughout the day. Its caffeine free and tastes great! Like those latte’s? You can create your own herbal coffee latte with this as well as include some great free-radical fighting rooibos tea to give it some added flavor!
Do you like to get tea bags at the store for the convenience? Not a problem! You can purchase tea bags so you can mix your own individual herbal tea flavors and take them with you! This way you can have your herbal tea anywhere you go!

Need your herbal tea sweeter? try adding stevia to it. Its so good that even diabetics can use it without any negative ramifications like sugar. It is also better than artificial sweeteners as it doesn’t cause brain fog and isn’t linked to cancer. Hooray a sweetener that is good for us!
