extreme close up-pollen on echinacea

My allergies are on the fritz!

With it being so dry out the pollen doesn’t get washed away, instead, its floating around the air in the wind and being brought inside your home! Its so miserable! I was walking around like a zombie with a runny nose, non-stop sneezing, and watery eyes, and when they did finally calm down a little I had a soar throat from sneezing so much! It was a loosing battle and the only thing that I thought worked was over the counter meds.

Then I found out that the following herbs help:

  • Stinging Nettle
  • Green Tea
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Eucalyptus
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Turmeric
  • Goldenseal
  • Catnip
  • Peppermint
  • Echinacea

For a quick temporary relief if you have peppermint store it in a mason jar in the dark and when you need it to be bale to breathe you can open the top and take a big whiff! Be careful not to get too close as some peppermints are much stronger than others!

Another great way to help your allergies is to use eucalyptus oil. You can put this directly on to pressure points! You can also add it to any tea for a great flavor and it will help internally by helping to promote sinus drainage.

An amazing fact about garlic, it helps the body produce less sticky mucus. So by having less of this mucus it is actually acting as a nasal decongestant! So start adding garlic to your meals!

All of these wonderful herbs can be added to your loose tea and taken that way, or you can even find some in tablet form at your local health food store. Tea is a great way to take it though as the compounds necessary to fight off allergies is able to be absorbed by the blood stream directly for faster results!
Every person is different. What works for you may not work for someone else or visa versa. So if something doesn’t work after a week or two try something else.  Find the herb that works best for you what you need this allergy season and be sure to consult with your doctor before starting a regimen.
